Taking a taxi cab between the Sydney International Airport and Sydney cruise ship terminal should run about 30 AUD for a 1-way trip. If you have 5 or 6 people in your group, ask the dispatcher for a larger vehicle such as a Suburban. For a larger group, you are better off taking a Super Shuttle to the port. It is extremely important to reserve as much as possible in advance. Taxi services in Sydney are forbidden to approach you.

Taking the Cruise Line transfer between the Sydney Cruise Ship Terminal and Sydney International Airport

On average, cruise line transfers between the Sydney Airport and Sydney cruise ship terminal are approximately $40 per person, each way. A benefit of cruise line transfers is that they watch your flight for delays. Within reason, they may delay the departure of the ship if your flight is late.

Taking a Shared Private Shuttle between the Sydney Cruise Ship Terminal and Sydney International Airport

Generally, shared private shuttles (i.e. Super Shuttle) between he Sydney Airport and Sydney cruise ship terminal are only economical (versus the cruise-line provided transportation) if you have a larger group. You can reserve for a van or shuttle, and they will take you directly to the port. Be advised that this is not the most "luggage friendly" mode of transportation in Sydney!

Taking a Rental Car between the Sydney Cruise Ship Terminal and Sydney International Airport

There are many rental car companies with locations at the airport and near Sydney. You can get a rental car between the Sydney Cruise Ship Terminal and Sydney Airport, and your most reasonable options can be secured at the Sydney Visitors Centre. The rental car agencies have shuttles to take you to and from the ship.

Taking a Town Car between the Sydney Cruise Ship Terminal and Sydney International Airport

A chauffeur-driven town car between Sydney Cruise Ship Terminal and Sydney International Airport can be a stress-free option, though probably the most expensive. You do ride in a nicer vehicle and don't have to bother with waiting for other people to board. For 4 people going between the airport and cruise ship terminal, this is as economical as the taxi option. Larger vechicles (Suburbans) are available for an additional charge for larger parties. Again, we suggest reserving your town car well in advance!

Taking a Train from Sydney International Airport to the Cruise Terminals

As is true for traveling in Europe and the United Kingdom, trains are likely one of the most convenient means of getting from the airport in Sydney to the cruise terminals. City trains operate every 10 minutes and link to the City Circle, which is well within walking distance for downtown Sydney. Trains cost 15 AUD for adults, and 10 AUD for the first child in the family. There is no charge for the rest of the children in a family. The biggest consideration for you is to make sure you are headed to the correct cruise terminal of the two. It takes roughly 20 minutes from Sydney International Airport to reach both, and you can access exact information at the Sydney Visitors Centre.
